On April 7, 2012 at around 5 in the evening Mobile Life received a request for the SORT Team two respond to a large brush fire in Ellenville, New York.
At the time a brush fire had grown to a larger scale and had spread to some surrounding structures. Over 25 different fire companies from four counties responded to Ellenville to help extinguish the blaze.
Mobile Life quickly responded with the Special Operations Response truck and two advanced life support ambulances. For the duration of the fire the SORT team provided essential rehab services to the exhausted firefighters and treated minor injuries.
At about 10pm that same night the SORT team was released from its post. At this time a majority of the fire departments had also been released from the fire.
